Don't see the battery icon on the home screen

I just bought an AT@T 12 mini. Where is the battery icon on the home screen? Before I pushed up and saw the internet, the battery, and the flashlight but now I couldn't push it to see the icons at the top of the home screen. Can anybody help me?
